Hopefully there are no errors with this page because the PSD file got messed up. El whoops.

Looks who's back! And suddenly the nickname makes sense.

I wonder what happened to that dog's ear.

EDIT: I think now would be a good time for some theme music: [link]

Haha yes I did, quite late at night - I didn't really understand it at all at first, but it's very interesting after awhile haha

I imagine it might be confusing without context. This comic was part of an Original Character Tournament, where each round I fought against another opponent. The opponent would write a story/comic showing how their character would win in a fight against mine, with an overarching story that carries over from each round. The person judged to have the 'better' entry would move on to the next round. I was one of 64 competitors and made it to the finals, so as a stand-alone comic my entry is at least functional (it has a beginning and an ending; although I did lose the final round so my ending isn't canon from the OCT stand point). But a lot of stuff is a bit hard to follow unless you read up on the context of the opponent characters and other rounds. Think of it as one big collaboration between 64 storytellers+facilitators that was actively evolving at the time. It was a massive time-consumers, but a lot of fun!

Ahaa so that's what its about! I knew that it had something to do with a group - haha it sounds like a lot of fun though! Original character tournaments...is it a bit like RPG but with comics? Is this a group on dA? It sounds really interesting LOL

Not quite like an rp, because every competitor sets out trying to win, and each round half of the competitors 'lose' and don't come back. Also within your round, you control both your character and your opponent, with no input from the other character's creator. Of course, you are judged on how well you portray the other person's character (IE: if you show a character who's supposed to be a friend to everyone going on a murder spree, you'll not go over well with judging).

There are lots of OCTs on DA; I competed in 4 and I've hosted 2. They're not as popular as they used to be, but you can still find OCT groups. They consume a lot of time though.

Ohhh i see!!

It's a shame those sorts of things are dying out...do you think it's because dA is sort of dying?
Haha yes I can imagine they'd take a lot of time...

I think it's just because they're going out of popularity. Also after a while, people retire from doing them. An OCT with 32 participants will take over a year to complete, which is a long commitment.

I don't think DA is dying either. I think it's all a matter of the people you talk to and the places you browse. DA is kind of too big of a behemoth to just die off.

Didn't know we were havin' company. I'd have cleaned up a bit more if I'd known.
