Shink and Songdog Watch Anime

This is basically a bunch of reference and inside jokes, but I'll try to explain it so I don't look like quite the crazy person. ~Shinkoryu14 and I have been watching anime together for awhile, which is tricky because we also live several hours away. We've been syncing up videos and adding commentary via Skype for over a year now, and it's been a lot of fun. It basically started with Ouran, because I told Shink to watch it and she watched the first episode and said it was stupid. So I told her "No, something is wrong. Here, let me help you understand this." And thus the skype anime nights were born. We just finished watching Baccano tonight, so the first few are references to that.

1. A long while back during the CC finals, Shink and I jokingly made up a list of voice actors for all the CC characters. Speakeasy was a hard one. Eventually I said Firo from Baccano might work. Fast forward to about a week ago when we start watching it, and the entire time was basically "cannot unhear". Here's a clip: [link]

2. Basically a continuation of the first. Shink kept pointing out the hats. They are snazzy hats.

3. There is no three.

4. There's this super whiny character who cries like crazy and Shink said it reminder her of Void. The character has, er, a 'tattoo' on his face. That everyone says is a sword. Except it looks nothing like a sword: [link]

5. Evangelion. Is so many kinds of ridiculous. I have nothing else to say about it.

6. Oh Berserk, you and your ridiculous soda blood. Seriously, it's like "Blood Fountains: The Anime". At least when it's not being "Extreme Emotional Scarring: The Anime".

7. Evangelion. Never gets less ridiculous.

8. I borrowed Tyson for this, and it's another joke similar to the first one. We decided that Tyson's voice would be Shu from Now and Then, Here and There, because both characters are wide-eyed idealists. Um, the joke here is actually really, really terrible so it's better if you don't get it, really. I'm a terrible person for making this joke.

9. Same gag; we said that for Untoten's voice she's totally Juliet from Romeo x Juliet. So I drew Untoten as Juliet's crossdressing swordfighting alter-ego, The Red Whirlwind. Judge for yourself if it fits: [link]

10. When we were watching Berserk, Shink pointed out that Griffith reminded her of Bosso. She totally had a point. And it's disturbing as cuss all. Anyway, we watched the bloopers for Berserk, and the guy voicing Griffith just starts singing, right in the middle of his lines. For two minutes. And no one stops him. This happens several times, for that matter.



Sorry that this didn't make much sense (unless you're Shink). Well Shink, we've certainly had a lot of laughs, and here's to many more! I have many friends, both offline and online, and I think that it doesn't matter which a person is. A friend is a friend, and you can always enjoy spending time with them, even if you can't see them face to face. That goes to all my online comrades, some of whom I've had the good fortune of meeting in real life as well.

Aspen, you're next sir. I will get my revenge.
